GAthering of the juggalos 2014 special
In the UK we are right in the midst of festival season. From the hippie vibes of Glastonbury to the pill induced raving of Creamfields or the moshing of Download we seem to have most bases covered over here. If the press is to be believed, however, (see spin’s 40 coolest thing we saw at the GOTJ 2013) they all pale in significance, in terms of pure un-adulterated debauchery, compared to the Insane Clown Posse’s annual GATHERING OF THE JUGGALOS being held this year in Thornville, Ohio from the 23rd to the 26th of July. The line-up boasts some of Hip Hop and Rock’s most exciting live acts including Cypress Hill, Cannibal Corpse, Tech N9ne, Hopsin, Biohazard, Twiztid, Madchild, La Coka Nostra, Da Mafia 6ix and of course the Insane Clown Posse.
As well as the hundred or so live music acts performing there is also a plethora of other wild and whacky events and activities taking place including: live wrestling, stand up comedy, a freak show, Juggalo weddings, carnival rides, artist seminars and autograph signing and lots, lots more.
Anyone and everyone I have spoken to who has attended the Gathering has always said the same thing “You have to see it to believe it” and has claimed it to be unlike any other festival they have attended. Seeing as my broke ass is in no position to be buying a ticket over to the United States any time soon I got in contact with Bone Crusher, D Money Blockboy & Michael Lee Warren, Whitney Peyton, Dj Paul of Da Mafia Six, Blaze Ya Dead Homie, Daddy Long Legs of Wolfpac and Kaos Anubis (all of whom are playing at this years festival) to see what they have in store for fans at the gathering, who they will be watching there, plans for the future and who they would book at their dream festival.

What can people expect from your set at the gathering?
Chaos. I can’t even tell you what to expect because half the time I don’t even know what to expect! Certain parts of my set are very planned out and a lot of parts are improvised. I think this works out well because it makes it so every show is different. The Juggalos have been known to be quite hostile towards acts they aren't feeling. Does this put more pressure on you to bring your 'A game' and would you say you are nervous at all? There is always pressure on artists to be on their “A Game” no matter what crowd or festival it is. I’m always nervous before I perform in front of people just because I’m really kind of an awkward person, but I really love it once I’m on stage and the feeling after so I can’t just refuse to do shows because I’m scared. I have respect for juggalos and they have always given me respect back…. I’m very excited! |
|
Will you be watching any of the other acts at the festival and if so who are you most looking forward to seeing?
A ton of the acts performing are either my friends, artists I’ve done songs with before, or artists I’ve done shows with before so it’s really like a big reunion for all of us. Two artists I’ve never met or seen live though are Yelawolf and Madchild so I’m really amped to check them out!
If you were to make your own dream festival and could have any one, alive or dead, who would you book?
Whoa, that would be insane! I think people would scratch their heads looking at my line-up because I like such a variety of artists that you probably wouldn’t normally see share a stage together. Eminem is one of my favorite artists, but clearly I also perform at events for ICP and people always talk about the “beef” between the two acts so I think it would be dope to have them both perform at the same place… that would hopefully make people believe in the music and unity and forget fighting. Also artists like: Rittz, MGK, Adele, Frank Sinatra, Hopsin, Blink 182, Lorde, Royce Da 5’9, Michael Jackson, I could go on forever… so this may just be a year long festival.
Do you have anything you would like to say to the Juggalos attending the festival?
I just hope they have a blast, be safe, look out for your friends, and drink a lot of water! It’s usually hot as hell at these events and generally at ANY festival you hear unfortunate news of someone dying from dehydration or drug overdose or whatever so it’s just important to look after your homies. See you there!!
Whats next for you after the Gathering?
I’m working on A TON of new music videos as well as recording new music so really fans can expect lots of visuals and audio in the very near future!
Finally, is there any chance of some UK dates in the future?
YES! It’s been a goal of mine for a while now… so I’m going to do my best to make that happen. Team Underdog!
Whitney Peyton will be performing on Thursday July 24th on the Big Top Stage @ 6:30pm

Daddy long legs of wolfpac
What can people expect from your set at the gathering?
Well we do both kinds of music, Country and Western! On a serious note, you can never truly predict what you will see from WOLFPAC live! The live show for us is what we love to do, it is a ever changing, or mutation for a better description, live performance incorporating loud beats, in your face MC’s, beautiful Girls of WOLFPAC dancers, masked mad men, sick ass DJ and that’s just the start. Always adding a pinch of this and a dash of that to keep in interesting, and you never know exactly what will happen as the performance unfolds! The Juggalos have been known to be quite hostile towards acts they aren't feeling. Does this put more pressure on you to bring your 'A game' and would you say you are nervous at all? |
|
Every time WOLFPAC performs live we bring our “A” game! Whether it be to 5 or 50 or 5,000, it doesn’t matter to us! The same balls out (and I do me testacies) energy we put into a show of 3,500 we put into a show for 15! Juggalos are some of the freshest most original people there are out there! I don’t say “fans” because they are so much more than that, they are actually part of the music, this is what many artists don’t understand. I know this primarily since I have been down with the clown since I was in the BloodHound Gang where on tour a long time ago at some place in Michigan I was given a copy of Ringmaster and I have been a Juggalo ever since! Hell all of WOLFPAC are and we are proud to say it. People just get scared of what they don’t understand, its to be expected. Also it doesn’t hurt that a Juggalo can smell a fake a mile away, so if your trying to fake the funk and pull some wool over some ninjas eyes you best say home, but if your coming from heart, you will be welcome with open arms! To answer the rest of the question, we are never nervous, we are excited! We have been blessed with the opportunity to perform and make music for our kind of people from all walks of life, why the hell wound anyone be nervous about that!?
Will you be watching any of the other acts at the festival and if so who are you most looking forward to seeing?
Every single year we have had the honor to perform at The Gathering of the Juggalos and host Psychopathic Radio live from the Gathering (psychopathicradio.com) there has literally been a cornucopia of talent that we are stoked to see. From main stage acts to the independent underground there is so much every year its hard to narrow it down. You gotta know WOLFPAC rolls thick so every one of our crew has a favorite. It goes without saying that we can not wait to witness each and every member of the Psychopathic Records family live, that’s a given, especially Twiztid and Insane Clown Posse, both those groups are straight masters of their live performance! As for some of the other non Psychopathic artists, well anyone from Strange Records, and anyone from the SubNoize/Former SubNoize camp is dope live as well! I definitely want to check out Hopsin, Cypress Hill and our fellow Pennsylvania homegirl Whitney Peyton! One thing is for sure, there will be little to no sleep for the WOLFPAC family at this years Gathering!
If you were to make your own dream festival and could have any one, alive or dead, who would you book?
Brother its already been done, The Gathering of the Juggalos! I would just like to see a few more acts added. Korn would be dope, Slipknot as well and who could say no to Rob Zombie live or A Tribe Called Quest?!
Do you have anything you would like to say to the Juggalos attending the festival?
First we love y'all so travel safe! Lots of you are coming from all over the world, just take it easy. Better to arrive late and a live then dead. Be safe, bring baby wipes, plenty of water and stay hydrated! Also do not sweat all the hype on the police, they are there every year but it wouldn’t be bad for you to know your rights! http://showbams.com/2014/04/30/festival-lawyer-a-cop-stops-you-at-a-festival-the-know-your-rights-infographic/
Whets next for Wolfpac after the Gathering?
Brother there is so much going on in the WOLFPAC camp and SugarDaddy Productions. We have 2 new videos in the works for two of the tracks off the latest WOLFPAC album “Square Peg Round Hole” our production company just finished up putting all the finishing touches on our first reality TV show which we have a massive buzz for. We will be starting to record material in the fall and have a bunch of tour dates in the fall and winter being set up as we speak! So please keep a eye on wolfpac.com and our social media for more! As for the UK, who knows, maybe the UK, Japan and Australia as well, the world is our oyster so you can never be too sure where the infection known as WOLFPAC will spread to!
Wolfpac will be performing on the Big Top Stage on Wednesday 23rd July @ 6:30pm
